The Finger Lakes Tatting Group Invites You to Attend... Tatting Back to Basics!
April 12-14, 2024

YOU’RE INVITED! Have a seat at a tatting table and prepare for a great time and a chance to learn new skills in both our long and short classes. The Lodi Fire Hall’s Community Center is spacious, well-lighted, and handicap accessible. The menu includes classes, time to visit, great meals, vendors, raffles, an auction and wonderful optional activities. On Saturday and Sunday, beverages, breakfast goodies, lunch and snacks are free for participants and available for a a small fee to guests and vendors. The free potluck dinner on Friday will be followed by a free, optional bookmark craft. All the info you need is below:

2021 Fall Gathering

Finger Lakes Tatting Group

The Finger Lakes Tatting Group is hosting a fall gathering on September 17 and 18 and you are invited to join us!  This gathering is more informal than our spring tatting conference.  Because we haven’t seen each other in a long, long time, we intend to have fun, catch up, eat good food, enjoy raffles, a few classes and most of all, great company.

Tatting Conference 2020 - cancelled

Hello wonderful tatters!

This is not the message we hoped and expected to be posting.  But, because tatters are the most understanding and caring people in the world, we know you’ll understand our decision. To keep all of us – and the people we love and work with – safe and healthy, the 2020 tatting conference, “Tatting a Space Adventure” will be cancelled. Refund checks will be mailed later this month to those who have already paid their 2020 registration fees.

We’ve moved our plans to April 9 -11, 2021. That is the week after Easter and Passover next year. Many of you were going to travel some distance to attend, and we’re hoping you’ll join us safely and healthfully in 2021. Our amazing teachers plan on coming here then; and we’ll enjoy ourselves twice as much next year.

Stay safe, stay well – and stay in touch!  We hope and pray everyone avoids illness and harm.

Tatting - A Space Adventure

Get ready to explore outer and inner space with needle and shuttle!

Our 22nd annual International Tatting Seminars in the Finger Lakes, “Tatting – a Space Adventure” will  be held April 17th to 19th, 2020 and is guaranteed to take your tatting in new directions! The sky is (not) the limit!

You’re warmly invited to share the adventure and journey with us. We will meet again at the spacious, well-lighted community hall of the Lodi Fire Company in Lodi, NY, on Route 414. Click on the files below for more info and to register!

Tatting Contest 2019 and beyond!

2019 Fingerlakes Tatting Convention Contest Entries

Thank you to Martha Ess, Kari O'Connor and Karey Solomon for entering snowflake charm tatted projects in the 2019 convention competition. Martha made a snowflake, Kari tatted a bookmark, and Karey created a hatband.

Convention participants voted for their favorite entry. Martha Ess won the contest with her pale blue and white snowflake which followed the contours of the charm.

Everyone who attended the 2019 convention received a small tin to use in the 2020 tatting challenge. The theme is Tatting a Space Adventure and we're looking forward to seeing how you'll use your tin to tat a project for the next contest.

Nina urges those who have signed up for her Maltese pendant class to review and practice making Maltese Rings. These may not be taught in class, knowing the Maltese Ring is a prerequisite for the class.  Luckily, there’s time to learn and practice.  Find a tutorial Nina recommends here:

Tatting Conference 2017

The Finger Lakes Tatting Conference for 2017 will be held March 31 - April 2 in Lodi, NY. This year's theme is: Everything's Coming Up Roses!

This quilt will be up for auction!  It’s a single-sized quilt, all rose-themed fabric, with “warm and natural” batting inside, densely quilted by a wonderful quilt artist known as the “short legged long armer” and will have a reserve on it of $225.

Extra squares found their way into a beautiful table runner which wil be up for raffle.
